Optiarmor MIN M10
Optiarmor MIN M10 is a dairy-derived ingredient, developed from our expertise in valorizing milk minerals. It is obtained by precipitation of minerals, followed by drying. Its fine particle size (90% smaller than 10µm, with a minimum size greater than 0.1µm) facilitates its suspension in food matrices.
Thanks to rigorous protocols conducted by our Research & Development department, several technological functionalities have been observed in various food matrices. Below, we present these properties and their numerous functional benefits:
- Anti-caking Properties
Optiarmor MIN M10 exhibits anti-caking characteristics, as demonstrated by an internal protocol conducted by our R&D team.
This dairy-derived ingredient, when added to powdered products, improves the flowability of food powders and limits the formation of lumps, for example in milk powders.
The powder will therefore be more fluid during production use, less prone to forming agglomerates throughout the various stages, and will have better flowability for dosing.
This anti-caking function can be applied in many fields, such as ingredients for bakery, pastry, and confectionery, as well as sports nutrition powders and flavors. Furthermore, the anti-caking function is also applicable to products such as grated cheese, limiting block formation during storage.
- Color Retention
Internal tests conducted by our R&D department have shown that OPTIARMOR MIN M10 helps preserve the natural color of a product in the event of pH variations.
Many natural pigments are sensitive to these changes. A decrease or increase in the product’s pH can dull and degrade its color.
The OPTIARMOR MIN M10 ingredient has buffering properties that protect natural pigments from such modifications, such as acidification or alkalinization of the product, during production and throughout its shelf life.
OPTIARMOR MIN M10 is therefore an ally to overcome challenges encountered when using coloring foodstuffs or for maintaining the natural color of the product.
- Improved compaction
Compaction refers to an ingredient’s ability to form solid, cohesive tablets under pressure, without crumbling or disintegrating.
Internal tests conducted by our R&D department have shown that using OPTIARMOR MIN M10 in tablet formulations increases the compressibility of blends.
This allows, during tablet manufacturing, for less force to be applied in the presses to achieve the same hardness, which preserves the punches and consequently reduces wear on production equipment.
The addition of OPTIARMOR MIN M10, a blend of minerals, in dietary supplement tablets, for example, can also reduce their friability.
